Why am I writing these reviews?

So, why I am writing these reviews? After all, I do not and will not receive compensation from any pubs or restaurants of any kind whatsoever, none, zero, not one comped dinner, lunch, starter, or dessert. Nope, ..not even one single, creamy, dark and delicious pint. Sorry, I got distracted there. So, where was I? Oh, yes..So, why do I do this then? I do it because I love to share my experiences with you my fellow pub goer and restaurant diner. As both a veteran of the pub and restaurant industry for many years and also as a lucky guest of many of the fine establishments here in Galway and abroad that I have had the pleasure to visit, I love sharing about those experiences with others. I have been in the pub and restaurant industry for over twenty years now. In that time I have worked in establishments varying from tiny country pubs to grand hotels, from beachside bars to international big city nightclubs, and from sandwich shops to fine-dining restaurants of impeccable standards. All of the pubs and restaurants I go into, either as an employee or as a guest, always teach me something new and fun. I am looking forward to the next ones I visit and sharing those experiences with you. By the time I write a review about a pub or restaurant here I will have visited that pub or restaurant a minimum of three times before anything is written. Also, I will re-visit all of the pubs and restaurants I write about. This is out of fairness and because I know from experience how quietly even ownership of an establishment can change unknown to the general public, of how management staff can change or of how a chef and entire kitchen staff can change quietly as well. I believe in giving places a fourth and even more chances over time. As I revisit any pubs and restaurants I will subsequently update my views about them with you accordingly.

Sláinte agus slan go foil,
TGG (The Galway Ghost)
